Mayor: 7 shot on North Avenue in west Baltimore; Police: 4 victims were teens

Seven people have been shot Friday night in west Baltimore, according to the mayor.

City police said detectives know at least four teenage girls and one male were shot.

Police said officers were called just before 10 p.m. to the area of the 3100 block of North Avenue. The scene stretched for a number of blocks on West North Avenue between Longwood Avenue and North Ellamont Street.

Mayor Brandon Scott said none of the shooting victims suffered life-threatening injuries. All the victims were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Police said detectives believe the suspect(s) may have been in a white SUV.
