USA Men’s Basketball Team Defeats France to Win Gold at Tokyo Olympics

Team USA Men’s Basketball captured its fourth gold medal in a row after defeating France 87-82 behind Kevin Durant’s 29 points.

The US led by as many as 14 late in the third quarter, but France managed to storm back and make it a three-point game with under a minute left. After a few clutch free throws, the US hung on for the win.

The win also tied Kevin Durant with Carmelo Anthony as the most decorated Olympians in Men’s Basketball. Also, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday became the third set of teammates to win both the NBA championship and Olympic gold in the same year. The other two teammates to accomplish such a feat were Michael Jordan & Scottie Pippen and LeBron James & Kyrie Irving.

Lamar Jackson can return to the field, cleared of COVID-19

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is ready to get back on the field after catching COVID-19 for a second time.

The Ravens announced Friday afternoon that Jackson has been reactivated to play, hours after Gus Edwards returned to practice after also catching COVID-19.

Edwards reportedly had COVID-19 first, then Jackson. There has been no confirmation of how Edwards or Jackson caught the virus, but no other players are known to currently be infected with the virus.

This news comes after Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott reissued a mask mandate for the city, regardless of vaccination status.

The Ravens first pre-season game is Saturday, Aug. 14 against the Saints at 7 p.m. Ge your Ravens coverage at 1090 AM, 101.5 FM, stream on or listen on the WBAL Radio app.
